Juvies has completed a very successful 10-city/50-school tour around the United States to the states with the highest level of juvenile incarceration. The film also inspired and spearheaded the writing of two bills in the California legislature to help juveniles incarcerated as adults.
As a result of the film and related advocacy work, the sentence of Duc Ta, one of the major stories in the film, was reduced from 35-to-Life to 11-to-Life, moving his parole date from 2031 to 2010.
On November 2, 2005, the film will air on HBO’s Cinemax Reel Life Presents. Check your local listings for the correct time in your area.
